Here are things to check on your Kubota tractor after taking possession of it. These tractors are not delivered to the dealership ready to go. They come in crates of the basic tractor body and the dealer finishes putting them together, fill fluids, etc. They also have a pre-delivery inspection they are supposed to do before you take possession. You can also ask for this list when you purchase a tractor.

But unfortunately there are a lot of things missed that should have been done or checked before you take possession. So i have put together a list of things to check after you have the tractor. This is a generic list as I am covering a wide variety of tractors, not one specific model. Refer to your owners manual for more detailed information for your machine.

  1. Tire lugnuts torque
  2. Loader frame mount bolts/nuts torque
  3. Front axle oil level. This is one of the biggest problems. The oil level is usually way to low.
  4. Transmission fluid level
  5. Engine oil level
  6. Air filter installed properly
  7. Coolant radiator and reservoir
  8. Safety switches
  9. Rops bolts
  10. Leaks. Look over the whole tractor,  under it, engine bay, transmission,  hydraulic lines, loader cylinders, etc
  11. Tire pressure. If your tires are fluid filled make sure your valve stem is at the 12 o’clock position

Checking these items will help ensure you have a good reliable tractor with hopefully minimal to no problems for a long time. Please also refer to your owners manual for maintenance schedule.
